Willie Nisbet has joined Bernhard this month as Sales Associate for Scotland. Willie from Fife, Scotland, worked for Bernhard for 5 years back in 2002 when he joined the USA sales team and covered the state of Michigan.

He later returned to Scotland to assist the UK team covering North of England, Scotland and all of Ireland as well as providing support at European Tour events.

A former Greenkeeper at St Andrews Links, Willie has run his own agriculture business for many years as well as contract grinding and sales. Alongside his new role with Bernhard he will continue with that.

He said, “I enjoyed working for Bernhard six years ago and I am really pleased to be associated with them again. I’m genuinely interested in the product and it is good to be selling a machine you believe in. My opinion is that it’s a necessary product if you want optimum quality golf course presentation. Bernhard grinders are one of the most reliable and affordable pieces of equipment a golf course should own, and the bonus is they won’t let you down!

The company has a good reputation, second to none and Stephen Bernhard has always encouraged the best from his staff. I admire how he runs his business and the effort he puts into training and education.”

Steven Nixon, European Business Development Manager said, “It’s great to welcome Willie back to the company. He has been in the business for many years and knows the product inside out, so I know he is the man to support us in Scotland. Willie is a really nice guy with great energy and enthusiasm and we are lucky to welcome him on board.”

Willie lives in Crail, a picturesque costal village 9 miles from St Andrews.

Crail boasts the seventh oldest golf club in Scotland, Crail Golfing Society.

“The village and 17 Century enclosed harbour are beautiful and it’s a great place to live. I loved the experience of living in the USA, and I do enjoy travelling, but I always like coming back home.”

Willie has 3 sons and 2 grandchildren. When he’s not working or spending time with the family his other passion is music. He has several guitars and has played for many years for his own pleasure as well as being part of a country band at one time.
