Meet Renata Mundim

I have always loved nature. Growing up in a rural area in Brazil, plants have become a big part of my life.

I became a qualified Biologist at the age of 21 and then moved to the US where I could work and continue my studies. I then had the opportunity to take a course in Golf Course Management, learning more about turf was a big game changer in my professional career.

For the past ten years I have then been involved in the Turf Industry. I have taken several educational courses in this area, worked with field research and finished a Master’s Degree in Horticulture and Crop Science at The Ohio State University.

As a Business Development Assistant at Bernhard, I am now able to mix my knowledge in plants with my passion for marketing through this blog.

IMG_3558.JPGVolgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad and nicknamed as the “Hero City” is an important industrial, historical and administrative centre of southern Russia. The city was the stage of the largest battle in worldwide history and is famous for its resistance against Hitler’s troops during the World War II.

Right on the western bank of the Volga river, the impressive Volgograd Arena is now part of the city’s scenery.  The World Cup stadium was built where former Central Stadium used to be, at the foot of the Mamayev Kurgan war memorial and being blessed by European’s tallest statue, The Motherland Calls. With capacity for 45.000 spectators, it will host four matches, Tunisia vs England, Nigeria vs Iceland, Saudi Arabia vs Egypt, Japan vs Poland. IMG_3639.JPG

General Construction Manager Dmitry Kuvshinov and Head Groundsman Vladimir Proskuriakov invited our team for a visit where we could learn more about the construction process, challenges, and pitch management practices that are being applied at the arena.

With SubAir systems, TurfBreeze Fans and sharpening systems from Bernhard Company, Golf Technology is bringing solutions to the Volgograd Stadium, helping the grass to be at it best during the most important football tournament in the world.
